Ivey, Barnum & O'Mara Attorney Donna Castronovo Closes $43.5 Million Megamansion Sale in Greenwich, CT

Attorney Donna Castronovo

Sold with the legal representation of Attorney Donna Castronovo, a sprawling new residence in Greenwich, Connecticut, has sold for $43.5 million, marking the town’s priciest transaction so far this year.

The estate, set on nearly eight acres in the sought-after mid-country area just minutes from downtown, covers 26,837 square feet. Built for a New York City family who ultimately chose not to move in, the home was a custom project years in the making.

The mansion offers eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, three powder rooms, and two offices. Standout amenities include both indoor and outdoor pools, a dedicated packing room, a dining pavilion, and a champagne bar. A pool house with a yoga studio and outdoor kitchen accompanies the 70-foot pool, while the 36-foot indoor pool is designed with retractable walls that open seamlessly to the outside.

Inside, the design highlights double-height windows, a dramatic spiral staircase, a glass elevator, white oak flooring, and custom plaster wall panels. Expansive sliding doors on the main level blur the boundary between indoor and outdoor living, creating the blend of East Coast formality and West Coast openness that the sellers envisioned.

The property was designed by Granoff Architects with interiors by Korban Studios. Initially listed for $55 million in June, it went under contract the following month before closing this week.

According to listing agent Michele Tesei of Houlihan Lawrence, the craftsmanship and materials reflect extraordinary attention to detail. The deal ranks as the most expensive sale in Greenwich this year and the second-highest “off water” transaction on record. The only larger one was Tommy Hilfiger’s $45 million estate sale in 2021.
