Melissa Zelen Neier
Melissa Zelen Neier is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and of Boston University’s School of Law. Prior to joining Ivey Barnum in July 2003, she practiced in the Corporate Reorganization and Bankruptcy Group of Sidley Austin LLP in New York.
Ms. Neier leads Ivey Barnum’s bankruptcy practice. She represents creditors, debtors, trustees and committees in reorganization and liquidation proceedings, Ms. Neier serves as liquidating agent and trustee in several cases and has served as special litigation counsel to creditors committees and to debtors. She is also an accomplished commercial and appellate litigator. Ms. Neier has particular expertise in litigating claims involving officers and directors, third party professionals and in the treatment of insurance policies in bankruptcy. She has published articles on various bankruptcy and insurance-related issues.
Ms. Neier is a member of the bar of the State of New York and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the District of Connecticut, the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York. She is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation.
