Mark J. Schnitzler
Mark J. Schnitzler, was born in Mineola, New York. He attended the State University of New York, College at Brockport in Brockport, New York. After graduating from Brockport, he worked as a paralegal for The Legal Aid Society in New York City. Mark received his J.D., with honors, from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2003 where he was a member of the Probate Law Journal and he represented the school of law in national mock trial competitions.
Mark began his legal career as captive litigation counsel for an insurance company and he then joined the Connecticut office of a national law firm where he litigated complex cases. He joined Ivey, Barnum & O’Mara in 2009.
Mark’s areas of practice include commercial and general litigation. He handles product liability litigation and product recalls. Mark’s varied experience with insurance matters allows him to assist with the identification and mitigation of risk.
Mark has successfully expanded his experience in defense work to become an integral part of the firm’s wrongful death and personal injury department. He is responsible for the day-to-day handling of all wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases in the office. Mark’s comfortable and confident demeanor, along with his vast knowledge of the legal process, eases his clients’ concerns and allows him to clearly communicate complicated issues. His aggressive and thoughtful litigation style has resulted in outstanding success throughout his career.
Mark is admitted to the bars of the States of Connecticut and New York. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, the Southern District of New York, and the Eastern District of New York. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and is on the executive board of the Greenwich Bar Association. Mr. Schnitzler is also an active member of the Defense Research Institute which is an international organization of attorneys defending the interests of businesses and individuals in civil litigation.
